20 Things We Are Thankful For
As we continue to inch closer to the holiday season, we think more and more about what we are thankful for at UWEC. After all, it is the season of giving thanks and gratitude. We thought it would be a great idea to list out some of the things we are thankful for on campus! Here’s 20 things we are thankful for at UWEC:
1. A beautiful, beautiful campus 😍
Like, wow! How can you not be in love with how beautiful our campus is? Not too many universities have such natural beauty surrounding them.
2. The community that surrounds our campus
Whether it’s coffee shops, fun restaurants or biking trails, there’s so much to do in our city!
3. The Eau Claire Jazz Festival
This event happens every spring. It fills downtown Eau Claire with great music featuring Blugold and community jazz groups. We’re grateful that our community values art and music so much.
4. The Chippewa River
Not only does it make for great photo ops, but you can usually spot some Blugolds floating down the river in the summer 😎
5. The campus ducks
Just look at how cute they are! These ducks are sure to brighten your day 💙 💛
6. TV-10
They put so much hard work and dedication towards providing us updates and entertainment while hanging out in Davies Center! You can’t forget how awesome MyTV10 is either.
7. All of the activities to do in Hilltop Center
There are SO many activities that go on in Hilltop. Whether it’s playing pool, going to Zumba, or climbing the bouldering wall, Hilltop’s got it all!
8. Gatsby’s Gala
If Jay Gatsby could see the kind of party we throw every November, we’re sure he would be astounded. But of course, you don’t need to take our word for it, old sport.
9. Einstein’s Bros. Bagels in Centennial Hall
Not only are the bagels fantastic, but the staff is even better! It’s always a day-maker to visit the friendly crew and snag a bagel and coffee.
10. The Blugold Marching Band (BMB)
Anyone else obsessed with BMB performances every fall? Not only are their on-field performances electric, but their enthusiasm in the stands brings a whole new energy to sporting events!
11. Pablo Center
The amount of great entertainment Eau Claire hosts in Pablo Center is like none other. The venue is simply jaw dropping!
12. Block Meals
What a treat it is to have predetermined meals planned out for us so we don’t have to cook! But there is one block meal that we think trumps all others…
13. Chicken Teriyaki Bowls
This certainly isn’t a hot take. We’d bet most of campus agrees with us. The must have meal at UWEC is so good it might be worth spending all of your block meals on!
14. The Cabin
The Cabin has all of the cozy vibes and coffee you could ever ask for. With a fireplace, couches and relaxing music, you could easily spend an abundance of time getting work done in here!
15. Judi
It’s no secret that Judi’s special ingredient is love. Her smile is contagious and her joy is unparalleled. We appreciate everything she does for our students in Blugold Dinning!
16. All of the study abroad opportunities
Did you know 1 out of 4 graduating seniors will have had the opportunity to study abroad? We love getting to the see beauty of the world 🌍
17. Garfield Avenue
The festive lights and fireplaces make Garfield Avenue the best place to catch a sunset any time of year.
18. The Eau Claire sunsets
The sunsets definitely affirm that we are the #mostbeautifulcampus in Wisconsin 😍
19. The Viennese Ball
Ever wanted to go to Austria? Luckily, our yearly event in April brings Vienna right to you! It’s one of our most favorite events of the year.
20. All of our students, faculty and alumni
Did you think we would go through this entire list and not mention how thankful we are for the people that make UW-Eau Claire what it is?? We are SO thankful for all of you! 💙 💛
We encourage all of you to write down 20 things you are thankful for! Life is more than school, work or any other stress. It’s all about giving thanks and spreading the love. Let’s remember that during this holiday season!
